Girls' Day 2025

Girls' Day 2025: Microchips for Modern Medical Technology - Using MRI to Look Inside Things
On April 3, 2025, a special workshop titled "Microchips for Modern Medical Technology - Using MRI to Look Inside Things" took place as part of KIT's Girls' Day. Ten students had the opportunity to participate in this exciting program and gain deeper insights into the world of microtechnology and medical technology.
The workshop was organised by Selina Eckel (Institute of Radio Frequency Engineering and Electronics, IHE), one of HyPERiON's PhD students, with the support of Dr. Mazin Jouda and Jingyi Lui (Institute of Microstructure Technology, IMT).
Workshop Highlights
- Practical Application of MRI Technologies: The workshop provided a practical introduction to magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) and the students manufactured an important component of the MRI scanner themselves in our electronics lab.
- Interactive Demonstrations: We demonstrated how this technology is used and the participants were able to scan small objects that they brought to the workshop.
An Unforgettable Experience
The workshop was a great success and offered the students a unique opportunity to discover their talents and interests in the field of magnetic resonance imaging.
